How to reach us

By foot oder by bike

It takes roughly 10 minutes to walk from Meissen’s ancient city centre to the Porcelain Manufactory and Museum.

We can be reached within about 20 minutes from the top of the hill at Albrechtsburg Castle.

For cyclists, we are within about 10 minutes of the Elbe Cycleway. There are bike-and-ride boxes and an e-bike charging station (Roßmarkt) in the city centre (below the Kaendlerpark, on Elbstraße where it meets the bridge and on Roßmarkt).

By rail

There are two Deutsche Bahn stations in the vicinity of the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, Meißen-Altstadt and Meißen-Triebischtal. S1 services run in accordance with the timetable in force at the time. We are a 10-minute walk away from both stations. The route is signposted.

By car

• A 4 motorway from Dresden, Wilsdruff turnoff
• A 4 motorway from Chemnitz, Siebenlehn turnoff
• A 14 motorway from Leipzig, Nossen-Ost turnoff
• A 13 motorway from Berlin, Radeburg turnoff
• B 6 main road from Dresden

Parking facilities

There is a public carpark run by Meissen’s Department of Works at Talstr. 10, 220 yards away from our main entrance. There are charges for parking there. The parking tickets issued are not, unfortunately, valid on House of Meissen premises.

Bicycle racks are in place approx. 55 yards to the right of our main entrance.

Luggage lockers (€1 deposit) and a cloakroom (no charge) for panniers etc. are to be found inside the building.

Reaching us by river

Paddle steamer, May to October

Disembarkment (downstream from Dresden): left bank of the Elbe

Arrival from Dresden. Combined tickets can be purchased either at our ticket cash desk or at the advance booking offices of Sächsische Dampfschifffahrt in Dresden.

Heliport

There are two heliports near the River Elbe:

• fairground beneath Albrechtsburg Castle
• sports ground at Siebeneichen

Should you arrive by helicopter, please let the Visitor Service at the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory know at least 24 hours in advance so we can organise your visit accordingly.

Other flights

Dresden Airport is approx. 30 minutes away from the House of Meissen Theme World. Hire-car facilities and public transport will enable you to reach us from there without any fuss.
